“Inside Out 2” voted the highest-grossing animated film of all time, broke a new record when it debuted on Disney+ last Wednesday (25). Based on five days of broadcast on the platform, the film received 30.5 million views worldwide and became the number 1 Disney+ film debut in 2024.
Additionally, the sequel became the No. 1 film debut on Disney+ since “Encanto,” released in 2021, and the No. 1 film release of all time in Latin America and Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
According to the studio, the enthusiasm for the sequel led to a large number of subscribers returning to watch the first title, which was released in 2015. Since the first teaser for “Inside Out 2” debuted with record numbers, there have been more than 121 million views of “Inside Out” on Disney+ worldwide.
Released in Brazilian cinemas on June 20, the film continued to break records during the following months. In addition to the highest-grossing debut, the film had an excellent second weekend and surpassed the US$1 billion mark in just 19 days, faster than any other animation in history.
The production remains the highest-grossing film of 2024 and the only animated film to surpass $1 billion at the box office worldwide.
