“Inside Out 2” Breaks Record, Reaches $1 Billion at the Box Office

The film “Inside Out 2” has surpassed the $1 billion mark at the global box office in less than three weeks of release, reaching that milestone in the fastest time for any animated film in history, Walt Disney Co said on Sunday (30)..

Pixar’s production has the biggest box office of the year and is the only one to exceed US$1 billion (around R$5.59 billion) in 2024, as stated by Disney, owner of Pixar.

“Inside Out 2” is the sequel to the 2015 hit about the inner workings of a young girl’s mind. In the second film, the main character, Riley, has become a teenager and is dealing with new emotions, including anxiety and jealousy.

The first film opened with around US$90 million (around R$503 million) in its first weekend, in the summer of 2015, and reached US$858.8 million (around R$4.8 billion) globally.
