The awaited “Inside Out 2” arrives in Brazilian cinemas this Thursday (20). In the plot, which follows the 2015 animation, Riley is now a teenager.
As the young woman matures, the mind control room is also undergoing changes. The familiar Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who have long run a successful operation, are not sure how to feel when the new tenants, Anxiety, Envy, Boredom and Shame, arrive on the premises.
A CNN talked Dani Calabresa (Disgusting), Mia Mello (Joy) and Octavian Costa (Fear), who dubbed the emotions in the first feature and return for the second. They evaluated the responsibility of each of them in Riley’s life and the change they noticed in the characters from one film to the next.
“Emotions are following Riley’s growth, so now there are new challenges. Before, it was in childhood and now, in adolescence, she is all about socializing, making friends at school. Nojinho is sharper, her mission is to protect her from things that are not socially legal or things that are repulsive to her. Before she protected [a Riley] of broccoli and now it’s a mess at school “, said Dani.
“Alegria continues to aim to keep everything under control very well . There’s a moment where she collapses there in the film because she’s the whole time: ‘Guys, everything’s okay, it’s going to be fine’ and everything is falling. In the first one, we have that meeting between her and Tristeza, which is so interesting, and in this one, she has this place of always playing up. I think this is the function of Joy. When she matures a little more, maybe if she has a three, she will have less desire to control everything”, said Miá.
“Fear is this character that protects, that makes Riley think for 3 seconds about whether she should do this or that, sometimes she exaggerates, but it’s all for her own good “, said Octavian.
Katiusca Canoro (Sadness) and Leo Jaime (Anger) also return to dubbing the emotions they gave voice to in the first film and Fernanda Mendonça (Shame) Gabi Milani (Envy), Eli Ferreira (Boredom) and Tata Werneck (Anxiety) become part of the list of “Inside Out” .
The film premiered last week in the United States and had the best release since “Barbie”, in July 2023. Furthermore, the Pixar animation received a 92% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the web’s main review aggregator.
