Today reopened and under new management, the historic Copacabana Cervantes saw its future uncertain during the pandemic. It closed its doors in March 2021 and had to lay off its experienced and numerous team.
It was then that former employees of the house, both in the lounge and in the kitchen, teamed up with businessman João Brandão (from Bar Cabidinho, in Botafogo) to open a place with similar DNA. Thus was born World Cup Parade that same year, on the busy Rua Batata Ribeiro, in Copacabana.
A success since then, the house began to multiply throughout the city. In October, it opened an attractive branch with tables on the sidewalk in an increasingly busy block of Rua Vinícius de Moraes, in Ipanema.
The attractions are 29 sandwiches — as appetizing as they are exaggerated — in a size that is worth a meal. The most famous of them is that of shank with melted cheese and pineapple (R$ 43) mounted on soft milk bread.
It is also possible to prepare them with tender (R$ 47), roast beef (R$ 38), roast beef (R$ 40), filet mignon (R$ 52), sausage (R$ 35), tenderloin (R$ 38 ) and sausage (R$ 35).
To go with it, most ask for a draft beer (Brahma). Before the sandwiches, you can whet your appetite with savory snacks such as the cod fritter (R$ 12.90) and the shrimp, catupiry and leek pastry (R$ 12.90).
Hurry up and the next Parada de Copa branch will be in Leblon!
