Inspiring! Runner stops to help his opponent and they cross the finish line together

Athletics is a high-performance sport that requires its contestants a rigorous preparation to withstand changes in weather and take their physical resistance to an unexpected level, the latter being the most complicated, since if they have not trained enough or the nerves appear, everything can end badly.

This is precisely what happened to Blake Cerveny, who had several falls during a track meet. Despite the stumbling blocks, he recovered and kept going. However, in the last fall, Brandon appeared, a rival on the way who became an ally by helping him to his feet and running with him to the finish line, leaving a great lesson in empathy that is already on social networks.

This story took place in Nebraska, United States, when Blake, in an effort to reach the goal, ended up demanding so much from his body that his legs could not support him, causing him to fall straight to the ground four times.

The worst came when there were only 100 meters to go to complete a five-kilometer marathon. Blake believed that all was lost as his legs were unresponsive and his strength was about to end. However, behind him appeared Brandon Schut, a competitor who was able to pass him by and ignore him, but who decided to stop to help him up and even gave him his shoulder to support himself and finish the competition.

The gesture moved and shocked those present, as no one could believe that the young man had stopped, putting his marker at stake, to help another competitor. In the end, they both crossed the finish line together.

On the other hand, Brandon said that he stopped to help Blake because he had previously gone through a similar situation and did not want others to go through that process of guilt and physical and emotional pain.

Although none of the competitors managed to position themselves among the first three places, they did cross the finish line and obtained more than one prize by winning a genuine friendship and the recognition of all those present and Internet users who applauded their gesture of solidarity and effort.
