Instagram is constantly updated and while we await the implementation of a new way to view Stories, a useful function arrives to interact with those posted by the users we follow.
Baptized as Story Likesthe novelty will allow us to put a I like it to the Stories simply by touching the heart icon which will appear at the bottom, between the field to type the message and the airplane icon used to forward the story to another user. In this way we will send a like to the author of the story but with an important change from the current mode: the user will not receive any private message.
In fact, the novelty arises precisely to avoid that the inbox of incoming messages is clogged with numerous conversations containing only the reactions. However, there will be no public count for the likes received on the stories, but we will be able to find out who liked our content simply by consulting the list of views that will show a heart next to the name of those who left a I like it : “The idea is to make sure that people can express more mutual support, but also clean up the DMs a little,” explained Mosseri in the video posted on Twitter.
The novelty is being released but it may take a few days to see it available in the app: therefore, it may be useful to keep it updated to get the latest features.
