The Instagram team, now part of Facebook, is gearing up to launch the long-awaited feature on the social network’s desktop web.

Users can currently access Instagram from a computer or even iPad via the desktop website. However, the site does not provide the ability to upload photos, videos or Stories. This is now reported to be about to change. The company is already working on a website update that will allow users to create publications directly from a PC.

Developer Alessandro Paluzzi drew attention to the innovation, posting screenshots as evidence.

Users are invited to create a post with a photo or video, several formats are supported (original, square, portrait and horizontal), you can apply filters and edit a photo, add a description, location, and so on.

While the developer hasn’t announced when the new feature will be widely available, this is great news for iPad users. The latter can install the Instagram app for iOS on the iPad, however, it works just like an app for the iPhone, without using the entire screen.

Sadly, Instagram’s CEO said last year that a dedicated iPad version of the app was not part of the company’s plans. Thus, the ability to create publications on the iPad through the browser, at least, makes the situation less frustrating. However, we can only wait for the possibility of creating “Stories” through the web version of Instagram.
