Intel has lured another AMD specialist with ties to the graphics division.

Vineet Goel served as corporate vice president of GPU architecture, graphics, machine learning and mobile platform at AMD. At Intel, he got a similar job as vice president and general manager of GPU architecture and IP engineering. More specifically, Goel will lead the Xe Architecture and IP Engineering Group, which was formed in June. He will be subordinate to Raja Koduri, who, we recall, also moved to Intel from AMD.
As for Goel, before AMD, he worked for Qualcomm on GPU Adreno for several years. An Intel spokesman said Goel will lead a team of architects and design engineers as part of the design and validation process for Intel’s Xe roadmap, which includes elements for graphics, multimedia and display that will be used in the company’s GPU.
