Everything goes to the official start of sales of the flagship processor Intel Core i9-12900KS. Earlier, it was already highlighted on the retailer’s website, which indicated the cost of the novelty, and now the flagship of the Alder Lake family has been tested in Geekbench. And the Core i9-12900KS managed to set the record.
In the official single-thread performance ranking, the Core i9-12900KS is the best. Despite the fact that the result of 1998 points is indicated there, but in reality the CPU is gaining about 2100 points. In the multi-threaded test, the Core i9-12900KS with a score of about 19,000 points is faster than the Core i9-12900K by about 10%. In the corresponding rating, it is only in sixth place, but only server Xeon W and Ryzen Threadripper with a much larger number of cores are above it.

The platform used for the Core i9-12900KS tests on Geekbench used an Asus ROG Sstrix Z690-F Gaming motherboard with 32GB of DDR5-4800 memory. This processor, we recall, operates at a frequency of 3.4-5.5 GHz, which is 200 and 300 MHz, respectively, higher than the frequencies of the Core i9-12900K. Accordingly, the TDP is also higher: 150 W in the base and 260 W in the maximum version.
