Intel not only divides its processors into overclockable and non-overclockable, but also invites those wishing to engage in overclocking to buy an additional warranty.

The corresponding program is called the Performance Tuning Protection Plan (PTPP). It implies that the user will be able to replace a processor that has failed due to overclocking once for free. True, how Intel checked under what conditions the CPU failed is unclear, but that’s another story.

In any case, the company said it has decided to end the program from March 1st. The reason is a decrease in demand for the service.
