Spotify CEO shared on his social media a increase in searches for French music on the platform after the start of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
“Amazing to see so many people discovering French music on Spotify after some incredible musical performances at the Olympic Opening Ceremony,” wrote Daniel Ek on his X profile, formerly Twitter.
According to him, the song sung by Céline Dion, “Hymne A L’Amour”, by Édith Piaf, had a 320% increase in reproductions on Saturday (27), one day after the opening ceremony.
Singer Céline Dion also saw an increase in searches overall, with a 65% increase in France and 35% globally.

Additionally, French heavy metal band Gojira — the first heavy metal band to perform at an Olympic opening ceremony — has gained more than 300,000 followers on Spotify since Friday (26).
