Polestar has introduced a three-wheeled electric scooter for the transportation of goods. The British magazine Wallpaper, the Swedish off-road motorcycle company SAKE and the metallurgical concern Hydro took part in the vehicle project. The electric scooter was designed by German industrial designer Konstantin Grcic.
The developers call the new electric scooter “city sleigh”, as this transport is ideal for delivering goods in populated areas. The electric scooter is even able to replace small vans, but only under favorable weather conditions, since it does not have sufficient protection.
It is known that the vehicle has an aluminum frame, is able to withstand up to 275 kg of payload and at the same time has a sufficiently thin body that will allow it to ride on a cycle path. All controls will be installed on the steering wheel.
The project designer noted that the development of an electric scooter is carried out according to the principle of simplicity, pragmatism and immediacy. He assured that in this vehicle the driver will not see the horizontal platform and vertical screen.
This is only an experimental development at the moment. Polestar will provide more detailed information about the cargo electric scooter on March 17. New vehicle sales are scheduled for fall 2021.
