An international conference entitled “United for Global Food Security” will be held in Berlin on Friday, the Foreign Ministry recently announced.
The conference is co-organized by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Development Aid and Rural Economy with the aim of exchanging views on how to better deal with the threatening food crisis caused by the war in Ukraine. Among the participants will be ministers from the G7 countries – the G7 summit will be held under the German presidency from 26 to 28 June in Bavaria -, the most important donor countries, the countries most affected by the crisis and representatives United Nations and civil society.
“Russia’s military offensive against Ukraine puts the world on the brink of a dramatic food crisis. The conference aims to discuss ideas for preventing and tackling the crisis,” the statement said.
