Military police officers from São Paulo arrested, in the early hours of this Thursday (23), 33 people who were transporting drugs from Brazil to abroad on international flights. The “mules”, as these types of people involved in drug trafficking are called, were in a property in Vila Sônia, a neighborhood in the south zone of São Paulo.
At the scene, the detainees confessed that they swallowed the drugs to travel to other countries. Police officers seized cocaine capsules that were ready for ingestion.
In addition to them, a 24-year-old man was arrested red-handed on suspicion of enticing the others involved in the scheme.
The 33 drug “mules” arrested today (23) were from the states of Ceará, Piauí, Maranhão, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Norte, Rio Grande do Sul and São Paulo.
The military also found passports, cell phones, bank cards and drug trafficking notes.
The police arrived at the scene after receiving an anonymous tip, through the Hotline. According to the complainant, the suspects lived in this house and were responsible for taking the drugs to European countries, such as France, Spain, Holland and Ireland.
The prisoners were sent to the Federal Police.
