Intracom Defense – NATO agreement for the upgrade of the Greek anti-aircraft Patriots

INTRACOM DEFENSE (IDE) signed a contract with the NSPA (NATO Support and Procurement Agency) for the upgrade of the Greek anti-aircraft systems PATRIOT, as stated in an announcement.

The contract concerns the installation and integration of all modifications of the electronic equipment, as well as the functional control of the system through the upgraded software in its most modern version for the control, coordination and communication centers (ECS, ICC, CRG), in all Greek PATRIOT arrays.

The project is a continuation of the extensive participation that IDE had in the domestic co-production of the Greek PATRIOT systems, thus utilizing in the best possible way the acquired know-how and the established infrastructures, in order to implement with more economical way the upgrade program, while ensuring the security of supply (Security of Supply) of the Greek PATRIOT.

Its CEO INTRACOM DEFENSE, K. George Troullinos, said: “TThis project demonstrates the ability of the company, in collaboration with a certified network of domestic and international partners, to offer the Greek Armed Forces reliable and competitive production services, followed by support and future upgrading of the supplied weapons systems. This is confirmed in practice by the 15-year support of all European systems PATRIOT through its successive contracts INTRACOM DEFENSE with the Agency of NATO, as well as from the significant exports of the company, subsystems PATRIOT which exceed $ 500 million, while ensuring significant work for other Greek companies. It is not just a case study for the Ministry of Defense but a successful implemented policy, which reminds how when the Greek defense industry is seriously included in the main armament programs it creates highly specialized jobs and offers to the Greek economy and defense.
