Intracom Telecom enriches fixed wireless access solutions with MU-MIMO technologies

Intracom Telecom, an international provider of telecommunications systems and solutions, is expanding its mmWave family of wireless solutions with the addition of two new products, WiBAS ™ G5 dual-BS and WiBAS ™ G5 smart-BS designed to offer high bandwidth services. The new radio systems will be presented during the MWC Barcelona World Telecommunication Conference, from 28 February to 03 March 2022, at the 7B44 booth in Room 7.

Two years after the announcement of the revolutionary “WiBAS ™ G5 evo-BS”, Intracom Telecom has developed new techniques for FWA systems to serve a larger number of subscribers and achieve higher connection speeds. Technological innovations apply to radioB G5 dual-BS Frequency Dividing Multiplexing (FDD) technology at 28 GHz and WiBAS ™ G5 dual-BS Time Dividing Multiplexing (TDD) technology at 24/26/27/28 GHz. the capacity is 3.2 Gbps, using 100 MHz and 112 MHz channels, activating 2 or 4 transmission streams per radio system.

Thanks to its advanced technology, WiBAS ™, which works with 1024-QAM configuration techniques, allows terminals to reach speeds of 1 Gbps. Feature of WiBAS διο radio systems is the wide range which is also available on the WiBAS ™ G5 dual-BS and WiBAS ™ G5 smart-BS models. These systems can achieve radio coverage of up to 11 km, which is a particularly important factor in the network design and development process.

The WiBAS ™ G5 dual-BS and WiBAS ™ G5 smart-BS systems are fully compatible with existing networks and through their smart software, assist in technologically advanced and robust implementations and feature optimizations, through licensed software. Providers can directly increase the total network capacity of WiBAS τεχνο technology, using the new nodes together with the WiBAS ™ OSDR and WiBAS ™ G5 evo-BS platform. The WiBAS ™ G5 smart-BS operates on 5G mmWave frequencies in parallel with 5G NR networks. WiBAS ™ G5 dual-BS and WiBAS ™ G5 smart-BS, like any company FWA system, are radio systems that have a Software Defined architecture and can be upgraded with new software for new features.

Commenting on the growing demand for microwave transmission equipment, Jimmy Yu, Dell ‘Oro Group’s Head of Wireless Market Research, said: One of the reasons that fiber optic implementation is not economically viable is the long distance between buildings and residential structures, especially in rural areas, hence the need for mmWave solutions that can offer such a high capacity, as well as a large coverage distance, in rural and semi-urban areas. ”

Dimitris Pantelopoulos, Director of Research and Development at Intracom Telecom, said: “The expansion of Intracom Telecom’s portfolio of wireless solutions, in addition to being an important milestone, confirms the company’s goal to lead the market for fixed wireless access systems. The most advanced mmWave FWA technology available on the market today, the commercialization of these radios comes at a time when businesses and home subscribers are looking for instant connectivity at 5G speeds everywhere, even in areas where fiber optic technology is not available. can be implemented “.
