Intrakat: Opening ceremony for the construction of the Pafos – Polis Chrysochous highway in Cyprus

The opening ceremony for the construction of the Paphos – Polis Chrysochous Motorway in Cyprus, worth 86.84 million euros, took place on Friday, July 1, according to a related announcement by Intrakat.

The ceremony was attended by the President of DISY, Mr. Averof Neofytou, the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works of Cyprus, Mr. Yannis Karousos, the Mayors of Paphos and Polios Chrysochous, Mr. Phaidonas Phaidonas and Mr. Giotis Papachristofis, a number of officials of the Ministry and representatives of the local government while Intrakat was represented by Mr. Petros Suretis, CEO and Mr. Dimitris Pappas, Authorized Advisor.

It is noted that the beginning of the construction works of the Paphos-Poles Chrysochous road was welcomed by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nikos Anastasiadis, through his post on his Twitter account, stating: “The Paphos-Poles Chrysochous road, which has always been in our priorities, is now becoming a reality Today’s start of construction works fills us with optimism since one of the largest development projects with multiple benefits for the whole of Cyprus is being implemented.”

Mr. Petros Suretis said: “We are here because today the work begins on a very important project for Cyprus. A breathing project that will qualitatively and functionally upgrade the lives of the residents and visitors of Paphos, Polis Chrysochous and the wider area . We are very proud and honored by the trust you show us. Once again, I assure you that the people of Intrakat, with their high scientific and technical training, with their excellent corporate culture and creativity, are the guarantee for smooth and timely construction of a modern highway”. It is recalled that the project concerns the Construction of Phase I of the Paphos – Polis Chrysochous Motorway, and consists of a 15 km long highway with two 900 meter long tunnels and five 1,400 meter long high bridges.
