Skoda has finally made the long-awaited announcement of a new version of the Kodiaq crossover, which has been on sale since 2016. After restyling, the car received not only a modern design, but also a set of modern electronic systems, as well as a more powerful engine in the sports version.
The Skoda Kodiaq offers state-of-the-art infotainment systems with DAB technology, Laura digital voice assistant and a wide range of online functions. Three infotainment systems – Bolero, Amundsen and Columbus – are always online thanks to the integrated eSIM card.



The Bolero infotainment system and Amundsen navigation system feature an 8-inch touchscreen, while the top-end Columbus navigation system has a 9.2-inch display. Map and software updates are installed over the air. Wireless charging for smartphones is available as an option. Mobile devices can also be connected and charged via USB-C connectors. An optional 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit display is available with four different layouts that the driver can customize.


Laura digital voice assistant understands 15 languages ​​and can even process sentences fluently, including Czech, English, German, French, Italian and Spanish. DAB digital radio is standard equipment and online radio stations are available as an option. The new infotainment apps include news and weather, and can also connect the Google calendar to the vehicle. Smartphones can be paired with Kodiaq using Wireless SmartLink, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, or MirrorLink technology. Skoda Connect’s online infotainment services provide, among other things, remote vehicle access via the MySkoda app. This allows the owner to lock and unlock their Kodiaq through their smartphone.

Buyers are offered versions with petrol engines of 1.5 and 2 liters with a capacity of up to 190 hp, as well as diesel 2-liter engines with a capacity of 150 and 200 hp. The gasoline engine can work with a manual transmission or a seven-speed “robot”. The rest of the engines are paired with a robotic transmission. The crossover is available with both front and all-wheel drive. The sports version of the RS received a 245-horsepower 2-liter gasoline engine.



European sales of the updated Skoda Kodiaq should begin in the summer, and in Russia the model will start at the end of this year.
