This year, Kia has held the third presentation of the new generation of the Kia Sportage crossover, which was previously presented in South Korea and Europe. This time the announcement of the American version took place, which differs from the two previously announced.

The all-new fifth-generation Kia Sportage went on sale in its homeland of South Korea in July this year. In September, a shortened version debuted in Europe, which has different suspension and steering settings.

Now we are considering the American version, which has dimensions of 4660 x 1865 x 1660 mm with a wheelbase of 2755 mm, like the South Korean model. The dimensions of the European version are 4515 x 1865 x 1645 mm with a wheelbase of 2680 mm.

The American version of the Kia Sportage 2022 differs in engines. If turbocharged engines are offered in Europe and South Korea, then in the United States, a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter 190-horsepower GDI engine with combined fuel injection, as well as an 8-speed automatic gearbox, are available to buyers. Buyers will be offered a choice between front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. You can connect to your car from your smartphone via the Kia Connect app, accessing services, navigation, voice control, and more.

The 2022 Kia Sportage in the US will be offered in two versions: X-Line and X-Pro. The first will receive 19-inch wheels, other bumpers, body elements, mirrors, more powerful roof rails and other details. The Kia Sportage 2022 X-Pro is called the off-road version with 17-inch matte black wheels with BFGoodrich tires, optional Snow mode, heated windshield and washer nozzles, and LED fog lights. There will be an X-Pro Prestige version with powerful LED spotlights, front seat ventilation and an electric front passenger seat.

The 2020 Kia Sportage will be produced at the company’s factory in Georgia, with sales starting in early 2022.
