Corning, known for its Gorilla Glass for smartphones, has introduced the new Gorilla Glass DX and DX +, optimized for smartphone camera lenses.
Recall that two years ago the company introduced Corning Gorilla Glass DX and Gorilla Glass DX + protective glasses, which are focused on wearable electronics, in particular, smartwatches and fitness bracelets.
The company claims that Gorilla Glass DX and DX + have received a different composition to provide scratch resistance without sacrificing photo and video quality. According to the official statement, the new composite material allows 98% of ambient light to pass through while maintaining the same scratch resistance as regular Gorilla Glass. Corning claims that the protective glasses currently used in smartphone cameras only allow about 95% of light to pass through.

It has not yet been announced which phones will use the new Gorilla Glass DX and DX +, but Corning has already confirmed that South Korean manufacturing giant Samsung will be the first to launch such devices.
As a reminder, Samsung has scheduled the Galaxy Unpacked event on August 11, at which two foldable smartphones, new smartwatches, headphones and other new items are to be announced.
