SberBank announced the launch of a new product in the Sber ecosystem – the multifunctional set-top box SberBox Time.
It was developed by the SberDevices team. So far, the series has included the basic SberBox, which debuted a year ago, and the SberBox Top (review) with smart speaker and camera features, released in July 2021.
In addition to the set-top box, SberBox Time also offers smart speaker and desk clock functions with a music alarm. Like the rest of the series, the new product supports the work with voice assistants “Salyut”.
When connected to a TV (via an HDMI cable), control is possible by voice, using the remote control and its virtual counterpart in the Salute application, as well as from a gamepad. Users will be able to watch TV channels, videos on the Internet, films, cartoons and series in online cinemas, and search for information in a browser. SberBox Time supports UHD 4K and HDR video output. Games are also supported through the SberPlay cloud service. The possibility of a wired connection to the network (Ethernet) is provided.
At the start, SberBox Time will be presented in black and white, but over time, the color palette will expand. The recommended retail price is 7,990 rubles. The exact date of the start of sales has not yet been announced.
The SberDevices team has also developed a set of accessories to give the set-top box a unique look – deer horns and cat ears, princess crown, airplane wings, shark fins and flames – in total 16 3D models are available for download on the official website of the company. According to the layouts, such accessories can be printed on a 3D printer or simply cut out of cardboard.
