Before the start of the E3 exhibition, as part of the presentation of the new Xbox products, the first trailer showing the gameplay of the dark adventure game Somerville was shown. It is created by the Jumpship studio Dino Party, who was one of the creators of the highly successful Limbo and Inside.
The project was supposed to be released in 2019, but difficulties arose during development. Now it looks like the independent studio has found a sponsor, which will bring the game to PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S, and will also be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
Somerville resembles Inside a little, but at some points the camera changes its angle, while the video shows new elements of the gameplay.
Playdead released Limbo in 2010 and Inside in 2016, they received 88 and 87 points on Metacritic, respectively. Somerville is expected next year.
