Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer XPeng Motors has announced its third production model, the XPeng P5, which features XPeng’s Xpilot 3.5 self-driving system.

The XPeng P5 is the first car to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon SA8155P platform from Qualcomm, which claims to be three times the performance of the previous generation. The length of the car is 4808 mm, and the wheelbase is 2768 mm. Also, the car received a transparent panoramic roof with an area of ​​1.493 m2.
The car is equipped with modern laser rangefinders (LiDAR), which are able to distinguish between pedestrians, cyclists and scooters, static obstacles and road works in difficult lighting scenarios (night, dusk, variable lighting and dimming, tunnels, etc.).

The Xpilot 3.5 system enables self-driving and includes 32 sensors, including two LiDARs, 12 ultrasonic sensors, 5 millimeter-wave radars, 13 high-resolution cameras and 1 high-precision positioning unit (GNSS + IMU).
The company’s Xmart OS 3.0 operating system offers an enhanced digital cockpit for user interaction with a next-generation vehicle that supports full voice interaction.
