Invasion of Ukraine: European leaders annoy Macron over phone call to Putin

The European front does not seem to be completely tight, as European leaders appear irritated with the French president, Emanuel Macronwho contacted him Vladimir Putin without having previously consulted with them, at a time when war is raging in Ukraine and the EU has decided on sanctions.

According to diplomatic sources, cited by Mega in his report it is a big “foul” of the French president as the Europeans do not appear united outwards.

As it became known from the Kremlin, with a relevant announcement, the telephone communication was made on the initiative of Emanuel Macron. It is the first known communication between a European leader and Vladimir Putin since the Russian offensive began. In it, the Russian president explained in detail to his French counterpart the reasons for the military operation in Moscow.

It is recalled that Macron also had contact with the Russian president last week without achieving results, something that may have cost him his image in the run-up to the elections in France, and so according to analysts, the French president tried a relaunch, but irritated his partners.

“Europe is finding it difficult to form a united front in foreign policy,” he said Mega Alexandros Despotopoulos, internationalist, pointing out that the Hellas has experienced the misunderstanding of European leaders many times.
