Invasion of Ukraine: Moldova is also in a state of emergency

Its parliament Moldavian decided to declare the country a state of emergency for 60 days after Russian invasion in the neighborhood Ukraine.

The Prime Minister of Moldova Natalia Gavrilitsa stressed in her speech to parliament before the vote that the government would use the emergency measures only if necessary. According to her, the biggest threat to Moldova at this stage is the large migration flows. However, he added, “the state of emergency will allow us to be flexible and take swift action to resolve any problems that may arise.”

At noon yesterday, Thursday at Moldova closed its airspace due to the Russian attack on Ukraine.

Earlier, the president of the country Maya Santou stressed that the Moldova is ready to receive tens of thousands of people who will flock from the neighborhood Ukraine. “The international community jointly condemns Russia’s actions against Ukraine. “We will help the people who need our help and support.”

All this against the background of the assessment of the Ukrainian army that claimed that the plan of the Russian army is aimed at cutting off the Kiev and create a land corridor to the south towards its annexed peninsula Crimea and its area Transnistria in Moldova.
