Invasion of Ukraine: The first horrific 24 hours of war through shocking frames

The horrors of war are reviving in Europe almost three decades after the break-up of Yugoslavia, as the Russia invaded the Ukraineas a result to start a new blood cycle.

The first bombs fell at 05.00 in the morning Thursday and at the same time began the gradual advance of the Russian army and mainly special forces, along the entire length of the Russian-Ukrainian border. The sirens sounded at Kievas in all major cities, while the Ukrainians with their suitcases in hand left their homes.

Queues formed in ATM and Super Marketwhile those who did not go to the shelters, got stuck in traffic, as queues formed in the streets, by drivers who tried to leave the country.

Pictures and videos which are a punch in the stomach have been made public and show citizens saying goodbye to their loved ones, as the future is uncertain.

Alongside, Russia occupied territories north of Kiev, while securing much of the north of Crimea, as well as the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
