The former director of the Federal District Civil Police investigated for threatening and persecuting two women has retired. The dismissal of delegate Robson Cândido was published in the Official Gazette of the DF this Tuesday (17).
The ordinance cites a decision by the DF Court of Auditors (TCDF), which states that the retirement of civil police officers is granted for time of service provided in “activities carried out under special conditions, harmful to the health or physical integrity of public servants, with conversion of special time into common time, in view of the recent decision of the Federal Supreme Court – STF in the judgment of Topic 942, of General Repercussion.”
Cândido asked for dismissal from the highest position in the PCDF after becoming the target of an Internal Affairs investigation due to two complaints made by two women against him. The women accused him, in reports made at the Women’s Police Station, of threats and harassment, including in workplaces and at the home of one of them.
The case was revealed by CNN on October 4th. After the disclosure, the Public Ministry of the Federal District and Territories opened an investigation “since such facts under investigation were carried out by a civil police officer in the exercise of or as a result of his duties.” Deputies from the Legislative Chamber of the DF also demand rigor in the investigations.
The prosecution is still considering taking the deputy’s testimony. Delegates close to the then director general could also be heard.
In a statement, the Civil Police states that, by retiring the delegate, the “institution acts in strict compliance with the constitutional and legal precepts on the subject. All administrative procedures are ongoing and under the diligent external control of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Court of Auditors, particularly in relation to the administrative appositive procedure.”
A CNN He sought out Robson Cândido to comment on the case, but has not yet heard back.
