A Civil Police investigator was arrested in the city of Valente, in the interior of Bahia, this Thursday (19).
One delegate and four military police officers were the targets of search and seizure warrants, actions carried out in the cities of Santaluz and Conceição do Coité.
All of them are accused of participating in an extermination group, which also carries out extortion through kidnapping. Weapons, ammunition, cell phones and documents were seized in the action.
The warrants were executed within the scope of Operation Nettle, carried out by the joint investigation between the State Secretariat for Public Security (SSP-BA) and the Public Ministry of the State of Bahia. The names of the officers involved were not revealed.
The investigator was transferred to the Civil Police Internal Affairs Office, in Salvador. The arrest is preventive and will initially last 30 days.
Previous investigations
Some of the police officers had already been the target of search and seizure warrants in the first phase of Operation Nettle, carried out on June 6.
It was launched by the Federal Police, together with Operation Golden Heron. At the time, four military police officers and an investigator were arrested, as well as a drug dealer.
