Invitation to travel – Concert for Franco Battiato: Emma sings the Maestro

A moving and heartfelt tribute, a secular prayer that has led dozens of artists to pay homage to the genius of a master like Franco Battiatowho passed away at the age of 76 on May 18, 2021. Together with her, esteemed colleagues such as Arisa, Enzo Avitabile, Vasco Brondi, Giovanni Caccamo, Carmen ConsoliSimone Cristicchi, Colapesce DiMartino – who with Battiato had the opportunity to pay homage to him at the Sanremo Festival a few months before his death -, DiodatoMax Gazzè, Jovanotti, Mahmood, Fiorella Mannoia, Gianni Morandi, Gianna Nannini, SubsonicPaola Turci: everyone at the Verona Arena to celebrate the talent of a man capable of making entire generations dance and reflect by becoming the spokesperson for a unique eclecticismable to expertly mix cultured and electronic music, avant-garde and literature, pop research and extraordinary poetry.

The film, produced by International Music & Arts and Except and distributed by Adler Entertainment, does nothing but photograph an evening that, in the soul of those who were there, quickly turned into a hug between joy and melancholy around Franco Battiato. Re-proposing his timeless songs was perhaps the best way to honor his memory and human stature, drawing from his most loved and popular albums and enriching them with the professionalism of Philharmonic of the Italian Opera Bruno Bartoletti, with Carlo Guaitoli conducting and piano, together with the musicians who accompanied Battiato on his latest tour: Angelo Privitera on keyboards and programming, Osvaldo Di Dio and Antonello D’Urso on guitars, Andrea Torresani on bass and Giordano Colombo on drums. The event was organized by the artistic directors Francesco Cattini, Stefano Senardi, Pino “Pinaxa” Pischetola, Carlo Guaitoli and with the executive production of the video footage by Maurizio Vassallo.
