iPad mini gets biggest update: bezel-less display, USB-C, new cameras

At the September presentation, Apple showed an updated iPad mini. The device has changed significantly: first of all, the design was redesigned.

The device supports the second generation Apple Pencil, which is magnetised on the side. The novelty also received an 8.3-inch IPS-display Liquid Retina with thin bezels and True Tone technology. The screen brightness reaches 500 nits. Inside the tablet is the Apple A15 Bionic chip, which makes the device 80% more powerful than its predecessor. Lightning on the bottom has replaced the USB Type-C port. Also iPad Mini received support for 5G networks thanks to the new modem. The processor has a built-in Neural Engine chip, which accelerates the execution of tasks requiring machine learning.

A Touch ID sensor is built into the power button, and the audio system now consists of speakers on both the top and bottom – honest stereo is supported. Wi-Fi has been upgraded to version 6 here.

The rear camera is a 12MP sensor with True Tone flash and Smart HDR for improved image quality in poor conditions. The front wide-angle camera also received a 12 megapixel sensor.

Prices start at $ 499 or 50 thousand rubles.
