The Consumer Price Index (CPI), which measures inflation in the city of São Paulo, rose 0.15% in the first four weeks of September, gaining slight strength from the 0.12% advance seen at the end of August, according to data published this Monday (12) by the Economic Research Institute Foundation (Fipe).
In this month’s initial reading, three of the seven components of the IPC-Fipe rose more strongly or reduced deflation: Housing (from 0.76% in August to 0.91% in the first four weeks of September), Transport (from -1.51 % to -1.49%) and Personal Expenses (from 1.22% to 1.45%).
On the other hand, there was a deceleration in the categories Health (from 0.53% to 0.41%), Clothing (from 0.72% to 0.56%) and Education (from 0.11% to 0.10%). In addition, deflation in the item Food (from -0.58% to -0.69%) intensified.
