IPC-S rises 0.7% in the 2nd preview of November, after rising 0.71% in the 1st week

The Consumer Price Index – Weekly (IPC-S) rose 0.70% in the second four-week period of November, compared to a rise of 0.71% in the first four-week period of the month. The information was released this Wednesday (16) by the Getulio Vargas Foundation. The indicator accumulates a high of 4.65% in 12 months, slightly less than the advance of 4.66% in the first reading of November.

Four of the eight expense classes that make up the index recorded a decrease in their rates of change. The highlight came from the group Education, Reading and Recreation (2.43% to 1.29%), influenced by the item airfare (9.91% to 4.95%).

Clothing (0.86% to 0.65%), Miscellaneous Expenses (0.16% to 0.12%) and Housing (0.41% to 0.39%) also registered a decrease in their rates of change. In these classes, the items with the greatest weight were men’s clothing (1.00% to 0.35%), pet food (0.93% to 0.61%) and residential water and sewage tax (2.65% to 1.84%), respectively.

On the other hand, the Transport (0.21% to 0.74%), Food (0.83% to 0.88%), Health and Personal Care (0.99% to 1.00%) and Communication (- 0.82% to -0.62%) increased, influenced by items such as gasoline (-0.30% to 1.33%), vegetables (9.74% to 10.64%), medical devices dental (0.49% to 0.63%) and telephony, internet and cable TV combo (-1.71% to -1.05%), respectively.

Individual Influences

Airfare (9.91% to 4.95%), gasoline (-0.30% to 1.33%) and tomatoes (15.69% to 19.63%) were the items that most exerted upward pressure on the second quadrissemana of November, followed by health plan and insurance, which remained stable at 1.14%, and ethanol (3.98% to 7.48%).

On the other hand, long-life milk (-4.85% to -5.13%), telephony, internet and cable TV combo (-1.71% to -1.05%), mozzarella cheese (-2 .13% to -2.30%) were the items that exerted the most downward pressure, followed by mobile phone tariffs (-0.38% to -0.45%) and manga (-7.91% to -7 .12%).
