iPhone 13 mini and part of iPhone 13 will be assembled by Pegatron

Pegatron has received orders for the 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini, as well as orders for the standard version of the iPhone 13, which has a 6.1-inch display, sources say.

The iPhone 13 mini is expected to be Apple’s last compact flagship smartphone this year, as the iPhone 12 mini sold far below other models in the lineup and was discontinued in the second quarter. Apple has no plans to release the 5.4-inch iPhone 14 mini next year. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will offer two 6.1-inch iPhones and two 6.7-inch iPhones in 2022 instead.

Pegatron is the second largest iPhone to iPhone assembler after Foxconn. In February, the company spent $ 14.2 million on land to build a plant in Chennai, India. At the end of last year, a plan was approved to build the first plant in India for $ 150 million.

Apple suspended its partnership with Pegatron in November 2020 after it discovered that the iPhone maker was committing labor violations by recruiting students.
