Iran accused of illegally exporting sophisticated US rail applications equipment

The US Department of Justice has announced that Iranian was arrested against which charges of illegally exported e -equipment to the Islamic Republic of Iran was reported against US sanctions against Tehran. Bahram Mohammad Ostovari, 66, was arrested on Thursday afternoon, shortly after arriving at Los Angeles Airport. He is accused of illegally exporting railway signaling and telecommunications equipment in Iran. According to the ministry, Mr. Ostovari is the founder, chairman and chief executive of Tehran -based engineering company, which undertakes projects on behalf of the state, including the Iranian National Railway Society. Between May 2018 and July 2025, Mr Ostovari allegedly supplied and exported sophisticated IT systems processors, signaling equipment and other electronics to his Iranian company.
