Iran: New symbol of the rebellion, 20-year-old Hadis Najafi, who was killed by 6 bullets in a demonstration

After Mahsha Amini, yet another young woman has become the new symbol of rebellion in Iran, rocked by violent protests. 20-year-old Hadis Najafi was shot dead by the authorities during a demonstration.

Journalist and activist Masih Alinejad announced her death on September 25, posting her name and a video, along with details of her death: the police authorities of Iran she was shot six times during a demonstration for Makhsa Amini in the city of Karaj, 30 kilometers away from Tehran.

In a video purported to show the young woman’s final moments, Hadis – who does not wear a hijab – ties her blonde hair back in the middle of the protest.

The incident reportedly happened on September 21, but came to light on Saturday, September 25. Hanjis Najafi was shot in the neck, heart, abdomen and arm. He was taken to a local hospital, where he expired.

Alinejad also published snapshots from the funeral of the unfortunate young woman. The news has not been officially confirmed yet.

“He was only 20 years old. Her heart was broken for Mahsha Amini. She said she wouldn’t stay silent. They killed her with six bullets,” the victim’s sister told the well-known journalist and activist.

The death toll in Iran’s Mahsha Amini protests has reached 41.
