On July 26, the head of European diplomacy and coordinator of the Iranian nuclear file, Josep Borrell, presented a compromise plan and called on the parties involved in the talks to accept it in order to avoid a “dangerous crisis”.
The head of Iranian diplomacy, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, said yesterday, Monday, that his country would announce its “final proposals” on the nuclear file by Tuesday.
“The differences concern three points, on which the US has verbally expressed its flexibility on two occasions, but this should be included in the text,” Irna added, without elaborating.
“The third issue is related to ensuring that the deal will be sustainable, and that depends on the realism of the US to reassure Iran,” the agency pointed out.
A State Department spokesman declined yesterday to say whether Washington would be prepared to end sanctions in the event of an Iran deal.
