Iran’s police have used tear gas and warning shots to suppress another night of demonstrations over the deadly collapse of a building in the city , but also related reports on social media.
Officials in the oil-producing province of Khuzestan, where Abadan is located, said the death toll rose to 28 and another 37 people were injured in the collapse of the 10-storey building on Monday.
It was a building inhabited by families, while it also housed commercial businesses.
So far, 13 people have been arrested for violating the relevant regulations, as it became known, from press and other reports.
