Iran’s Minister of Defense, Aziz Nasirzadeh, said on Sunday (4) that Tehran would retrieve whether the United States or Israel attacked.
Nasirzadeh’s comments were made after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised to retaliate Iran by shooting a missile by Tehran-backed Humuthi, who fell near Israel’s main airport.
“If this war is started by the US or the Zionist regime (Israel), Iran will attack their interests, foundations and strengths – wherever they are and whenever it is considered necessary,” Nasirzadeh told Iranian state TV.
The Ymen’s Houthis, supported by Iran, launched a missile on Sunday that fell near Ben Gurion airport, the latest in a series of attacks, saying they are acting in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza.
“The attacks of the Houthis emanate from Iran. Israel will respond to the Houthi attack against our main airport and, at the moment and place we choose, to their Iranian terrorist masters,” Netanyahu said on the X social media platform.
Echoing Iran’s official position, Nasirzadeh said the Houthis act according to their own motivations.
The Houthis, aligned with Iran, have launched missiles and drones against Israel in support of Hamas’s combatants. The United States has been attacking Houthi strongholds in Yemen since March 15, with President Donald Trump promising to hold Iran for any attacks by the group.
Iran “has no hostility compared to neighboring countries,” but in the event of an attack, the American bases located in the region will be considered targets of Tehran, said Nasirzadeh.
The minister’s statements occurred after Iran revealed on Sunday a new solid fuel ballistic missile called “Qasamm Basir”, which has a range of 1,200 km (750 miles), the Iranian state media said.
