The Iranian armed forces today launched exercises in the southeastern part of the country, near the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.

“These high schools are a serious warning to enemies and those with bad intentions towards Iran,” said Zolfaqar-1400 high school spokesman Admiral Mahmoud Mousavi, according to iribnews, the country’s state-run television network.

On Wednesday, Revolutionary Guards announced that they had recently thwarted an attempt by the US Navy to seize a tanker carrying Iranian oil in the Sea of ​​Oman.

Washington has denied the allegations, saying US forces were “just watching the situation closely.”
