Iran warned Israel today against any “new adventure”, as it called it, in Lebanon, according to a statement issued by the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani. “Any action (…) of the Zionist regime can lead to the worsening of instability, lack of security and war in the region,” noted the representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry. Israel will bear responsibility for the “unforeseen consequences and reactions to such foolish behavior,” Kanani also warned. Israeli authorities have blamed the Iranian-backed Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah for a rocket attack that hit a soccer field in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights yesterday, killing 12 people, including children and youths, and vowed to in severe retaliation. Hezbollah denies any responsibility for this strike.
