Iranian leader Ayatollah Khamenei threatens to kill golfer Trump: photo

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei posted on his official website as well as on Twitter an explicit call for an attack on former US President Donald Trump in retaliation for the assassination of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani last year.

The post is a edited photo of Trump golfering as the shadow of a military aircraft or large drone looms. The photo is accompanied by a caption in Farsi, which contains the words “the murderer of Suleimani and the person who ordered the murder will have to pay” and “revenge is inevitable.”

According to the BBC, the same post appeared on the Ayatollah’s Twitter account khamenei_site and repost was posted on Khamenei’s official account. The first account was blocked, and the second one just removed the tweet.

Twitter responded after several users pointed out that they considered the blocking of Trump’s account, but not the Iranian leader’s, to be inconsistent.

“Why can this terrible psychopath openly call for the assassination of the former US president and not be removed from Twitter?”, “Trump was banned, and this is normal. Are you kidding?”, – wrote users in the comments.
