Israel will soon face “a decisive and crushing response from the axis of resistance,” Iran’s Revolutionary Guards commander Hossein Salami told Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, according to Iran’s state news agency IRNA on Thursday (19).
The Iranian chief’s threat to Israel came in a letter he sent to the Hezbollah chief on Thursday, the day Nasrallah made his first public speech after two consecutive days of communications bombings in Lebanon that killed dozens.
The Hezbollah chief compared the Israeli offensive to a “declaration of war” during his speech.
In the document, Salami said Israel “will not gain anything from the new and extensive” attacks on Tuesday and Wednesday, “exploding pagers and electronic devices against women, men and children in Lebanon,” according to IRNA.
THE CNN has learned that Israel was behind Tuesday’s pager attacks, although Israeli officials have not commented publicly on the blasts on either day.
Still, Israel’s defense minister noted on Wednesday that a “new era” of warfare is beginning.
