Iran’s oil minister visits critical oil terminal amid fears of Israeli strike

Iran’s Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad arrived on Hark Island today, according to Shana, the ministry’s news agency, amid concerns that Israel may target Iran’s largest oil terminal located there. An Israeli military spokesman said yesterday that Israel would retaliate after last week’s missile attack by Tehran “when the time is right.” After the Iranian attack, Israeli officials said, according to the website Axios, that Iran’s oil facilities could be targeted in retaliation. US President Joe Biden said yesterday, Friday, that he does not believe that Israel has come up with how to retaliate. “Pakhnejad arrived this morning to visit the oil facilities and meet the personnel located on Hark Island,” Shana reported, adding that the terminal there has a storage capacity of 23 million barrels of crude oil.
