A Katyusha rocket landed near a gas extraction facility in Iraqi Kurdistan today, causing no damage, security officials said.
No injuries were reported.
The rocket targeted the facilities of Kor Moor, in the district of Semsemal, which is owned by Dana Gas, an energy company of the United Arab Emirates, according to the counterterrorism service of Sulaymaniyah province.
“There is no property damage, no injuries,” the statement added.
So far no organization has claimed responsibility.
In recent weeks, hydrocarbon mining facilities in Iraqi Kurdistan have been repeatedly targeted by rockets. The Kawergosk oil refinery, one of the most important in the region, northwest of Arbil, the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, was also targeted in April and May. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
