Infinix Note 12 Pro belongs to the middle segment. But it differs in an unexpected balance in favor of the main camera, performance and memory. Whereas often in the budget of about 20 thousand these parameters are pumped over according to the residual principle. But this combination may well be attractive to many users.

Appearance and ergonomics
Flat design, a glossy upper and otherwise matte, rough materials are the hallmarks of Infinix’s latest midrange and flagships. The feature of the Note 12 Pro is a huge round block of the main camera, which protrudes from the body by 3 millimeters. I will not discuss the topic of its practicality, but it would be possible to place the block in the center. A matter of taste, of course.
Otherwise, the case is very thin (7.8 mm) and rather narrow (76.5 mm) for its diagonal, so it fits well in the hand. The complete silicone cover hides the plane of the ends and makes the grip even more comfortable.

Otherwise, the arrangement of elements corresponds to the postulates of Infinix. On the right side are the power button with a fingerprint scanner and the volume rocker.

And below – USB-C, audio jack and multimedia speaker. The sound is stereo, and the second (conversational) speaker is quite loud. And the vibration from the linear motor does not rattle a bit.

Display
In the local 6.7-inch AMOLED, you cannot find the now popular increased refresh rate, the standard 60 Hz is available. However, for everyday life, the picture quality is chic, and the brightness is sufficient: from 3.45 to 499 cd / m² with automatic adjustment always correct. The design of the front camera could be better.

Camera
One cool 108MP sensor in the face of the Samsung S5KHM6 with f/1.75 optics is already familiar to us from the flagship Note 12 VIP. The result of shooting is gorgeous even in comparison with more expensive models. The metering is always accurate, all the shadows are drawn, and the detail is excellent.

At night, in automatic mode, the smartphone transmits the real picture without turning night into evening. If you need to brighten and embellish, a separate night mode comes to the rescue. The first couple of shots in the gallery below demonstrate the difference between automatic (1) and night (2) modes. The rest of the footage was taken automatically.

Since we have a middling camera, there was no place for a wide-angle camera next to the flagship main sensor. But Infinix could not resist the temptation and integrated a pair of actually unnecessary eyes into the Note 12 Pro: an AI module and a depth sensor.

The 16-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 optics delivers a consistently cool image during the day, but fails at night. But this moment was foreseen by equipping the smartphone with a bright frontal flash and the ability to illuminate the face with a display.

Software and hardware
In terms of software, there were no surprises: XOS 10.6 and fresh Android 12. In this shell, I like the large folders in the launcher and the large clock on the lock screen. But I do not like the separation of notifications and quick settings into two panels in the spirit of iOS and modern fashion. You can still find fault with minor errors in Russification. There are no complaints about the responsiveness and stability of the work. Despite the screen with 60 Hz, everything works smoothly.

MediaTek Helio G99 debuts on Note 12 Pro. This is not just a minor update of the previous Helio G96, but the long-awaited transition of the MediaTek gaming series to a thin 6 nm process technology. The layout remains the same, and the frequencies have grown slightly: 2 Cortex-A76 cores at up to 2.2 GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 cores at 2 GHz. The video accelerator has not changed, the same Mali G57 MC2. Peak performance has grown slightly, almost insignificantly. The tensor unit, which is very important for modern mobile devices, also improved slightly in benchmarks. On the plus side, now the smartphone heats up even less under load, and the stress test results are just as perfect.

For the novelty, they did not spare memory at all, getting 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB drive for 20-25 thousand rubles is a good offer. But you can still install a microSD memory card up to 2 TB in a triple tray next to a pair of nanoSIMs. All sensors work well, NFC is available.

Autonomy and charging
Since we have changed the rules and are now testing autonomy at the same brightness of 200 cd / m², compare the Infinix Note 12 Pro with its 5000 mAh battery for now. However, according to the experience of real operation, the conclusion is unequivocal: you can rely on this smartphone and not think about charging for a day and a half. That is, after active use, it is enough for the first half of the next day.

Charging is really fast, 33W charges the battery in an hour. However, the smartphone is not compatible with Power Delivery and Qualcomm Quick Charge.

Review after two weeks of use
If you are looking for a relatively inexpensive smartphone with a very good main camera, a cool processor and a capacious storage, Infinix Note 12 Pro worthy of attention. Acquaintance with him left a good impression, the smartphone easily copes with everyday tasks and toys. I also note pleasant ergonomics, which is rare for a design with flat ends.
Pros:
- matte non-staining back;
- very thin body;
- brand new MediaTek Helio G99 without heating and throttling;
- fast charging 33W;
- USB-C and audio jack on the bottom.
Minuses:
- Russification still needs to be worked on.
May not like:
- the main camera protrudes strongly;
- only 60 Hz at the screen.
