The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 slider smartphone has not received a continuation – this year the large Mi Mix Fold with a flexible screen came out. But this does not mean that the company has abandoned the idea of a successor to the Mi Mix 3 – otherwise why register new patents with a smartphone in a similar case?
However, if the body of the Mi Mix 3 was slid upwards, the images accompanying the new patent application show a model with a case slid apart to the side. And despite the fact that there are three images, the smartphone, in fact, is one, only with different variations of the drawer unit: with a multi-module camera, with an additional screen, or with a combination of both. The last option looks the most promising.
Registration of a patent does not mean the imminent release of such a model, however, given the presence of the Mi Mix 3 in the past, Xiaomi may well offer a new smartphone in a similar sliding case. And it could get the designation Mi Mix 4.
