Isabel Veloso talks about appearance during chemotherapy: “I use a filter”

The influencer Isabel Veloso, 18, spoke about her appearance during chemotherapy and the side effects she is experiencing . She is undergoing cancer treatment while pregnant with her first child.

“As it is a weaker drug, used alone and without combination with other chemotherapy drugs, it is obviously much lighter. The only side effect I’m having is a little nausea, but very little, and body fatigue. My chemotherapy is white, which causes a lot of pain in the body”, said Isabel this Wednesday (30).

She commented that she does not show on social media the moments when she is in pain or feeling unwell, so the view that she is well can be distorted.

“After the last treatment, I felt really bad. I became weak, and, early in the morning of the next day, I started to feel a lot of pain in the nerve in my arm, which even yesterday also hurt a lot. I don’t come here at these times. On the day, I didn’t even show up,” Isabel reported.

And he continued, justifying himself: “I’m a person who, when he’s in pain or isn’t feeling well, doesn’t like to show or talk about it much on social media. I prefer to let it go, get better, and then talk about what happened. But there are days when I’m not well, I’m very tired, I feel pain in my body because of the chemotherapy, especially before bed. But I don’t keep posting this, because it’s something I resolve with myself.”

Isabel said that, even when she underwent treatments that almost led to her death, her appearance was not weakened.

“Today, both because of the treatment I undergo and the use of filters on Instagram, sometimes this is softened. I posted a photo before without filter with Lucas in the pool, in which I am yellow due to anemia, both from pregnancy and chemotherapy. Everything influences, you know? I think it’s something difficult to judge”, he concluded in his Stories.

When she was five months pregnant, Isabel Veloso discovered that her Hodgkin’s lymphoma tumor was growing again and so she resumed chemotherapy. The news that her tumor had grown again was revealed by her husband, Lucas Borbas, on social media.

The influencer had stopped taking treatments for the cancer she has had since she was 15, becoming a terminal patient — with a life expectancy of six months — and then palliative care.

At the time, she explained that the progression of the cancer does not pose a risk to her life or that of her baby, but, even so, she decided to undergo treatment again.

According to the National Cancer Institute (Inca), Hodgkin’s lymphoma is a type of cancer that originates in the lymphatic system — made up of organs and tissues that produce the cells responsible for immunity and the vessels that carry these cells through the body.
