Ispa Award, the first Italian photographic award dedicated to sustainability

You know: photography becomes a privileged means when it comes to giving direct testimony of cultural transformations, social changes, of that process of continuous evolution that has nature and humanity as its protagonist. And never before has there been a growing need to tell Italian stories of progress towards a more sustainable future. A communicative urgency that led to the establishment ofIspa Award – Italian Sustainability Photo Award – the first Italian photographic award on the themes of sustainability, not only environmental, but understood in the sense of development sustainable, in the name of innovation, accessible wellbeing, environmental protection and biodiversity.

Curated by the Milanese photojournalist agency Paralello Zero in collaboration with the investment company Pimco, Ispa Award is free and is open to the participation of photographers from all over the world, without age limits. Up for grabs are two cash prizes for the best photo (1,500 euros) and the best photographic story (3,500 euros), but not only. The applications for the grant of 10,000 Euros, intended for the production of a complete photographic project to be carried out between April and October 2021, must be received by 1 April 2021. The Grant Ispa Award is the only prize in Italy to offer the opportunity to develop the production of an entire photographic project in six months, concretely supporting it with a loan.

The winning projects will be exhibited in a physical and / or digital exhibition scheduled between October and November 2021 and will be selected by an international jury composed of journalists, photographers and photo editors. The journalist and Rai TV presenter Tiziana Ferrario chaired it.
