Israel: 72,120 cases of the new coronavirus, a record for a second consecutive day

The Israeli Ministry of Health announced yesterday Wednesday that 72,120 cases of SARS-CoV-2 have been confirmed in the previous 24 hours, for the second consecutive day unprecedented since the outbreak of the new coronavirus pandemic in the country, at the end of February 2020, with total infections thus exceeding the limit of 2 million (reached 2,006,131).

This number corresponds to 21.2% of the population of Israel.

At the same time, 10 patients succumbed to complications of COVID-19, with the number of victims of the health crisis reaching 8,350 dead.

The number of patients treated in a serious condition increased to 533 (+35 in 24 hours). It is the highest since October 2021.

The so-called active cases increased to 393,786, a level that is also a record, according to ministry data.
