Israel again demands an apology from Lula: “Is it necessary to remind you of what Hitler did?”

Israel once again demanded, this Tuesday (20), a retraction from President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) for his latest statement regarding the war in the Gaza Strip.

“Millions of Jews around the world are waiting for your apology. How dare you compare Israel to Hitler? Is it necessary to remind you what Hitler did?” wrote Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz on X (formerly Twitter).

“How embarrassing. Your comparison is promiscuous, delusional. Shame on Brazil and a spit in the face of Brazilian Jews”, continues the minister in the message.

“It’s not too late to learn history and apologize. Until then – he will remain persona non grata in Israel!”, concluded Katz.

A CNN He sought out Itamaraty to comment on this statement by the Israeli chancellor, and is awaiting a response.
